Barb Bostock

Not every 62-year-old grandmother goes
white-water rafting, takes an annual ‘Polar Bear Dip’, or chooses the
stairs at the CN Tower. Barb Bostock has simply decided she’s too
active to let clinical depression slow her down. Barb suffered for
years until one day it occurred to her that without treatment, she
might not be able to baby-sit her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Thanks largely to the skills and opportunities she
gained from a local training and rehabilitation centre, Barb is now
capable of caring for her grandkids. She is not sure, however, how
their parents will feel about her next big adventure – bungee jumping.
After all, it isn’t for everyone!

Mental illness concerns us all.
