Peter Daniel, Executive Vice–President, Communications

Peter Daniel is Executive Vice–President, Communications and Corporate Marketing of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada. Mr. Daniel joined BCE in October 2003 following a career as a television journalist, international civil servant and most recently as a senior official in the federal public service.

Prior to joining BCE, Mr. Daniel was Senior Vice–President, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). He has held several senior positions in the federal public service, including Assistant Deputy Minister, Communications for the Department of Finance and for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He also served abroad in 1993 as international advisor on media and communications to the Transitional Executive Council preparing South Africa’s first multiracial election and in 1997 as Director of Information and Press for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) during the Kosovo conflict.

Mr. Daniel spent 15 years as a television journalist notably as the national reporter in Montreal and Ottawa and as the Paris correspondent and bureau chief for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
