
The Honourable Rémi Bujold, a member of the Order of Canada, is Senior Counsel with FH Canada. Mr. Bujold was the founder of Consilium, a major public affairs consultancy in Quebec, which merged operations with FH Canada in 1994.
Mr. Bujold began his career as special assistant to the Minister of Financial Institutions in Quebec, before becoming Chief of Staff to the Minister of State for Social Affairs. In 1975, he became special assistant to the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Pierre Trudeau.
In 1979 and again in 1980, Mr. Bujold was elected Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Bonaventure / Îles–de–la–Madeleine. He served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Manpower and Immigration, and in 1983, as President of the National Caucus of the Liberal Party of Canada. In 1984, Mr. Bujold was named Minister of State for Regional Development. He then left federal politics to take up the post as Chief of Staff to the Honourable Robert Bourassa, then Leader of the Official Opposition, who subsequently became Premier of Quebec.
Mr. Bujold is a member of the Bar in Quebec. He is Chair of the Canadian Landmine Foundation and Past Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Unity Council, an organization with which he has been affiliated since 1990.
